Do you actually have a link from MS saying they passed 30 million in May? There point hating on the basis of misinformation.
Th 10 million is worldwide 360 sales cos there is no way they sold that many in America. Vgchartz has their estimate at 10.2 million for worldwide sales which is about right.
This is a curious thing to say by MS, its either a mistake or a deliberate attempt to twist the truth. It reminds me of when sony stated the ps2 was outselling the wii in 2007. A proposterous claim and it later turned out they meant overall sales. Well duh! Every company does it.

MS shouldn't be too disheartened they beat their 2008 sales. Its just the ps3 beat its 2008 sales greatly with the price cut and the wii sells more than well... everything.
Isn't Mexico in the NA numbers too, or is that a different region?
There won't be much difference in European ps3 sales than American sales especially considering this record NPD. However 360 sales in Europe WILL be less than America.
As for getting exclusives both install bases are big enough now that they are guaranteed all future support. If it was done purely on install bases then the wii, approaching 70 million would have all the games...

Using Bathyj's figures the wii almost outsold the 360 or ps3's year totals in 1 month!
Also looks like the price cut has brought sony level in the only region where MS had dominance.

They may be at 34 sold to retailers. Seeing as MS are at 39 million to retailers and the gap is probably just over 5 million. That means MS should be at 37 million sold to consumers and Sony 31.5 - 32 million. I wonder what numbers vgchartz have?
To those saying MS have sold 39 million xboxes. They haven't. They have sold them to retailers, VgChartz estimates to consumers, hence the difference.
Also Sony said they had sold around 3.8 million in Decemeber from their estimations which is exactly what vgchartz predicted so the site did really well despite what the usual derogatory (with little research done) comments above say.

Its probably my GOTY because if I felt that in 10 years to come back to a game from 2009 it would be NSMBW. Its just so fun and reminds you why you play games and to me damn near perfect.
Thats why i'd choose it and put it ever so slightly over a legendary game like uncharted 2.

Thats a weird article seeing as the above posted is correct and they had stated they had sold 30.2 million consoles by the end of March in their financial reports.
